Use our HTML5 player to watch Beamafilm movies or series on PCs running Windows XP or later, and Intel-based Macs running OS X Tiger (v10.4.11) or later.
Note that only the client versions of Windows are officially supported, and an error is known to occur when a player loads in Internet Explorer 9 on Windows Servers 2008. You may be able to resolve this issue by installing the optional Desktop Experience component on Windows Server 2008.

Members of participating libraries can register for free Library Card Access.
Select your participating library and enter your library membership number to gain access. Register for a free Beamafilm Library account - all series and movies are free for participating library members.

Sign Up for a Free 30-Day trial to access our Subcriber Collection or rent any film from our Premium Rental Collection.
Beamafilm Library Card Access is available for participating library members. All series and movies are available to stream for participating library members. Credit Card Access is also available for paid viewers worldwide.
You can browse through rows of selected films in a wide variety of categories on the Beamafilm homepage. Use the menus at the top of the page to view films sorted by Documentary, Movie, Series or Subject. A search option is also available if you know the name of the series or movie you want to watch. Hover on the menu buttons to view more detailed groups of Documentaries or Movies.
Use the Subjects menu to see films grouped by a range of different topics. Select 'View All' Subjects to sort the entire collection by A-Z or Year of Release or to Filter by HD, Beamakids, Closed Captions, Subtitles, Classification or Country.
Beamafilm offers a vast catalogue of foreign language titles with English subtitles hardcoded into the video. Closed Captions for English language titles are also available for hundreds of selected films/episodes. To view films with Closed Captions, select Subjects and click VIEW ALL and then filter by Subtitles or Closed Captions. To access the Closed Captions while a series or movie is playing, click the CC button at the bottom right of the player to enable captions if they are available. Closed Captions are not currently available for trailers.
Beamafilm saves user caption preferences. Turning on/off captions for a film will automatically enable/disable captions for other films (Auto-generated captions will be disabled by default regardless of user preference). Captions will also be automatically enabled if you are using an Apple device and Apple Accessibility settings are active.
Want to see all kid-friendly movies on the screen at once? Use the Kids Films filter on the ‘View All’ Subjects page to view all kids movies together on one page.
If you're not already a Beamafilm member, you can sign up for a free library account or subscribe to watch series and movies. Once you have a Beamafilm account you can Log In with email + password, Apple or Google to enjoy unlimited movie streaming.
Using a Chromecast device, you can ‘cast’ videos from your computer or mobile devices directly to your TV. All you need is a TV, a Chromecast device, a WiFi connection and the Chrome browser or the Beamafilm app.
If you experience issues casting some films via Chromecast, we recommend you download our Android or Apple TV App for viewing on the big screen.
If you have an Apple TV, you can ‘cast’ videos from your computer, iPhone or tablet directly to your TV using AirPlay. All you need is:
Ensure your OS is up to date - older generation Apple TV’s may experience a slight delay in playback.
AirPlay means that any audio or video on your iOS device will be displayed onto your TV screen. AirPlay mirroring will show the entire screen of the connected device on your TV screen. Both methods will cast Beamafilm to your TV.
Using an HDMI cable, you can connect your laptop to your television so that you can view content from your laptop on your TV. All you need is a TV with a HDMI port and an HDMI cable which can be purchased online and at all tech stores.
Beamafilm is available on supported iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch models running iOS 10.0 or later. 'Sign in with Apple' is available for iOS 13 or later. Download the Beamafilm iOS app from the App Store here.
NB: With the new the privacy policy change on iOS 14, Chromecast is not working with the current Beamafilm app. Future updates will be coming soon to resolve this issue.

The Beamafilm TV App is available to download from the app store on your Android TV, Chromecast, or Apple TV.
Note: Samsung and LG TV users who do not have an Android or Apple TV can download the mobile app and cast to their TV screen via Chromecast or Apple TV.
Note: To access some Beamafilm features such as history, favourites and personalised recommendations, you need to have a personal account.
If you've forgotten or no longer have access to your Beamafilm password, click the ‘Forgot Password’ link in the login page on the browser and enter your email address. An email with a reset link will be sent to your Inbox to reset your password and regain access to your account.
If you are still unable to sign in to your Beamafilm account, it typically points to an earlier, partially-completed sign up attempt, or to some information from an inactive account that is saved on your device or browser - see 4.1 below.
If you wish to change from a paid account to a free Library account, access your account on the top right of the nav bar. Select 'Settings' and click 'Unsubscribe'. Once you have unsubscribed, log out of the account and sign up again with your library card number.
If you wish to change your library to a different library, access your account on the top right of the nav bar. Select 'Settings', scroll down to select the library you wish to change to and enter the barcode for your membership with that library. This can only be done once every 30 days.
When you are logged in to Beamafilm you will see an 'account icon' on the top right corner. Click on this icon and then select 'My Account' from the drop down menu. Select the 'History' tab to view the list of all the films that you have watched so far. You can remove any film if you no longer wish to see it in your history. This will also remove films from the 'Continue Watching' carousel on the home page.
When the Beamakids+ filter is activated it means that only kid-friendly films recommended for PG viewing or lower will be available in the collection. Parents can apply this setting to their family account at home to filter films rated higher than PG out of the offering. To exit Beamakids+, click ‘Exit kids+’ on the top nav bar. You can also create a Parental Control password to enter Beamakids+ to prevent children from exiting the Beamakids+ mode.
NB: You are not required to create a Parental Control password to enter Beamakids+. This password should only be used if you wish to prevent children from exiting the Beamakids+ mode.If you don’t have access to Beamakids+ yet, you can still use Viewing Restrictions to filter your account. Applying the Viewing Restrictions mode will prevent films recommended for higher aged audiences from appearing in your account.

If you are unable to sign in to your Beamafilm account, it typically points to an earlier, partially-completed sign up attempt, or to some information from an inactive account that is saved on your device or browser. Use the troubleshooting tips below to help complete the Sign Up/Log In process on the Beamafilm website.
If you have previously registered for a free subscription using paid access account and now wish to create a free library account using the same email address go to your account and unsubscribe first. Log out of your account and log back in using an incognito/private browser window.
If you have signed up for a paid subscription/account as well as a free library card with the same email address you will need to click on the account icon at the top right of the Beamafilm website to log out of your paid Beamafilm account first. Use an incognito/private window to log back in and also try clearing your browser cache if you still have issues.
Issues can be caused by temporary data that is stored in your browser from previous usage such as cookies, usernames and passwords etc. Sometimes logging out and then back in can resolve the issue, however you may need to clear your cache.

If you subscribed through Apple and see the message “Please check if your Apple subscription may have expired” when you try to watch a film, it is because Beamafilm might have not received a confirmation of your renewal. Log in to your iOS mobile app, and open the film you want to watch. This will update your subscription details and you can now continue enjoying our catalogue on any other device.
Hundreds of municipal and tertiary libraries serving over 20 million library patrons can access Beamafilm. If your library has Beamafilm, you can view any film in your library portal for free (although some libraries exclude MA 15+ or R-rated titles). Check if your library participates entering your library name on the Library Access page. If you can’t find your library name on the list you can sign up for a free 30-day subscription by clicking here .

A download speed no less than 850 KB/s (0.81 MB/s) will ensure a good result. You can conduct an internet speed-test using one of the free services available online. If your online access speed is too low you can contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to discuss options for improving your line speed.
Every Beamafilm title is offered in a variety of different qualities and the appropriate version is served to you based upon your internet connection speed. If you have a very low internet connection speed make that sure that the HD tab is set to the lowest possible setting from the bottom of the player. To enjoy a higher-quality version without experiencing buffering, you may need to upgrade your connection speed through your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Also, check that your internet connection isn't being used by other members of the household to download data-intensive content and make sure you're not uploading any content to the internet as this will affect results Close all connections you currently have and restart your browser. You may need to re-start your router. Turn off the power for 30 seconds and then turn it on again.
Beamafilm assists viewers to make appropriate viewing selections by including official classifications for all titles in the catalogue. Colour-coded ratings are aligned with classification colours for each territory. When films have not been officially classified in a territory, Beamafilm includes its recommended rating on a grey background alongside an attribution that Beamafilm is recommending this rating. Click on the film classification to see a collection of all films with the same age rating. Viewers can filter the collection by their preferred film classification by navigating to All titles under Subjects.
Some libraries filter higher-rated films out of their catalogue. If their patrons try to access these higher-rated films via their library membership, they will be advised that the film is not available to their library.
Beamafilm is currently a streaming-only site and you cannot download our films. Any film in the service can be paused and viewed later.
It depends on the length and quality of the content being streamed. Beamafilm content is offered in a variety of different quality options. Beamafilm generally uses about 1 GB of data per hour for each stream of standard definition video, and up to 3 GB per hour for each stream of HD video.
No, your credit card will not be charged for 30 days. When you sign up for the free trial, we ask you for your credit card details so that you don't have to register again when your trial is over, as it will automatically roll over into a paid subscription. You can cancel your subscription at any time (refer to ‘How can I cancel my subscription’ below).
You can watch loads of great movies and series as a paid subscriber. To check which films are included, click All titles on the Subjects page and filter by Subscriber Films. Some films are Rental-only and are not included in your subscription account but once you have an account you can also rent any film in the catalogue.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you cancel within 30 days your credit card will not be charged.
You can cancel at any time from the account section when logged in. On the left hand side menu, choose “Settings”. Scroll down the page and click the “Unsubscribe” button.
When logged in, open the accounts icon on the top right hand side of the screen and click on 'My Account'. This will take you to your account page. On the left hand side menu, navigate to “Settings” to change your name. If you wish to change your payment details, click on 'Choose Another Payment Method' when making your purchase.
