Watch Leopards - The Ghosts of the Savannah for free

Join Maleika, a cheetah from Kenya’s Maasai Mara, as she introduces students to one of the savannah’s most mysterious predators — the leopard. While cheetahs are built for speed, with long legs and distinctive tear-stripes that help reduce glare from the sun, leopards are powerful climbers with strong bodies and beautiful rosette-shaped markings. Though they may look similar at first glance, these two big cats have very different hunting styles and survival strategies. Students will learn how cheetahs rely on daytime speed in open grasslands, while leopards prefer to move quietly through dense vegetation and often hunt at night. The program explores predator behavior, adaptations, habitats, and the importance of awareness in the wild. With stunning wildlife footage and engaging narration, this documentary supports lessons in animal adaptations, ecosystems, predator-prey relationships, and biodiversity for upper elementary and middle school classrooms.
