This is the story of Anne (Laine Magi), a divorced 50 year-old woman who leaves a small Estonian town to care for an elderly woman in Paris, a free-spirited fellow Estonian who emigrated to France long ago, in the 1930's. Anne is at loose ends following the death of her mother with whom she lived and cared for. The aging and frail Parisian, Frida (Jeanne Moreau, PLUS TARD TU COMPRENDRAS, CINEMANIA 2008) is ready to end her life, she's had enough... Yet she's still well-groomed and sophisticated at 80 and has the good fortune to live in an upscale neighborhood in a large apartment. She's also blessed with a wicked and acerbic tongue, but, nevertheless, she's still a tired old lady lacking in energy. Stephan, a younger man, Frida's former lover, the owner of the corner café, is the only one who pays attention to her and genuinely cares for her. His relationship with Frida has grown to be complicated and stormy. Frida constantly reproaches him that he neither spends enough time with her nor cares enough for her. And, she systematically and frustratingly keeps dismissing the caregivers that Stephan hires to make her life easier. Despite their common nationality, Anne does not receive a warmer welcome - in fact, a deeper conflict develops.
