Beamafilm launches Polaris integration for seamless library access

Beamafilm is pleased to announce its new Polaris integration, making it even easier for participating libraries to provide their members with secure, seamless access to the streaming platform.
The integration uses Polaris API authentication to verify a library member directly using their existing library barcode and PIN. Once authenticated by the library’s Polaris system, members can access Beamafilm without requiring a separate library authentication process.
Importantly, the integration also supports automatic age-appropriate access using the member’s date of birth held by the library. Users under 15 are dynamically directed to the family-friendly BeamaKids+ experience; users aged 15–17 can explore the general Beamafilm catalogue with R18+ content restricted; and members aged 18+ receive full catalogue access.
For libraries, this means a more streamlined patron experience while ensuring appropriate content controls are applied automatically through their existing Polaris authentication system.
The Polaris launch is the latest step in Beamafilm’s ongoing program of deeper library-system integrations, making it simpler for libraries to connect their communities with our curated collection of independent films, documentaries, world cinema and Australian stories.
