Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died at Balmoral aged 96 after reigning for an astonishing 70 years. During her seven decades on the throne, the Queen witnessed enormous social and political change and her reign was also noteworthy as a period of British decolonisation. When Elizabeth II was crowned in 1952, she was the head of state of 32 independent states and at the time of her death in 2022, there were only 15 states or Commonwealth realms. A total of 179 individuals served as the prime ministers of her realms throughout her reign and she was responsible for appointing 15 different Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom, the final of which was Liz Truss whom she appointed only two days prior to her death. To commemorate Queen Elizabeth II, Britain's longest-reigning monarch, we've curated a Beamafilm watchlist on the British royals, the realm of royalty and on UK history. So join us in commemorating the Queen by streaming a regal movie, doc or a royal flush.
