ABOUT THE FILM

Growing Change

Simon is from a long line of farmers but has never had anything to do with food production himself. Food is just there – everywhere. Against the backdrop of the global food crisis, Growing Change follows the filmmaker on a journey inside a massive social experiment to determine the future of food.

In Venezuela, from fishing villages to cocoa plantations to urban gardens, a burgeoning social movement is demonstrating what is possible when communities – not corporations – start to take control of food.

In the face of oil shortages and rising temperatures this documentary asks whether sustainable and ethical food can be anything more than an ideal?
